Dairy Queen - Worst service ever if stars go towards left they are worth minus infinity stars...(-)

Kai and Melissa are special

When kai was extremely intimidating and rude during a drive through visit...requesting kai's supervisor to talk to kai...Melissa the supervisor says ...ok...and she looks at me...so silent...I felt awkward

Please get your ice-cream somewhere else...

We do not have pay 8 dollars for 2 small cones of ice-cream and get the bonus of their special intimidating rudeness...

Not worth it

If they are so unhappy to work...why can't they just live on my tax paid to state...

It's better that way...they can be just miserable to themselves...not to spread their miserable intimidating rudeness to paying customers at DQ.

Original review Jan 19, 2024

Hi my name is R marie, I've yet to get a response regarding how the local Dairy Queen in my town had treated me on my last visit there on January 16th (Owensboro Kentucky located on Frederica Street) I originally contacted corporate after the lady working the drive thru and counter by herself at a very busy time of the day(11:30am) was working her butt off and it was clear she needed another employee on the front end, when she got through with the customer at the window I first asked her about a coupon I found online, she wasn't familiar with it and the manager on the back line said they couldn't honor it and that was no problem I had literally just found it waiting to place my order. I picked out an ice cream cake that was the plainest ice cream cake I've ever seen in my life.

white except for possibly 15 to 20 sprinkles right around the rim. they had a whole bunch of ice cream cakes with peanut butter cup blended in with the soft serve I guess they're a blizzard cake and the person I was buying it for likes the original ice cream cake. I know this because it's been a tradition for five plus years to get an ice cream cake for their birthday. I took it to the counter, and after paying for it I had started to the lady if she could please write on there happy bday and before I could even finish the rest of my question she had already started walking towards the drive thru window "she was very busy" she waved her hand (in my personal opinion I felt like she was telling me with a wave of her hand she was done with me almost like I was a kid or just not a priority) she had completed the transaction and gotten the cash for the cake and she was on to the next customer telling me that it was not her responsibility to decorate my cake and she did not have time for that.

Normally I would have cussed her out and caused a scene but I have worked in the restaurant business for years so I bit my tongue and I told her I hope her day and her attitude gotten a lot better. I then told her I was just asking if you could write a simple happy birthday message and I was going to tell you I could come back and pick it up in a couple of hours but she was done even speaking to me so I left and called corporate. Corporate was very nice and told me I needed to call back to that store and speak with the manager and they should be able to take care of my issue because corporate said it is in their policy to accommodate the customer when it comes to what they want on the cake when you pay $35 and up for a birthday cake that shouldn't be too much to ask. And now the phone call to the manager at Dairy Queen on Frederica Street was ridiculous.

I Legit thought I was being punked. The biggest issue is the way the manager spoke to me after I contacted corporate. The minute she got on the phone her name was crystal by the way I told her that I had been in the previous afternoon and purchased an ice cream cake and she said yes you're the one who wanted to use a coupon and we would not do it I suggest that's correct she said and now let me guess you want your money back even though I'm sure you ate the cake. I was left speechless for a brief second and then lost it I tried to keep it together I just could not believe that a manager was behaving in such a juvenile and just rude manner.

I proceeded to tell her loudly and pretty fast paced because I talk really fast when I get upset then if she would have let me finish what I was saying before I was really interrupted was that corporate told me it was their policy to accommodate the customer and to decorate and when I say decorate I mean write happy birthday and a name. we were on the phone back and forth for every bit of 10 minutes and the woman was so rude and hateful there was no talking to her I don't see how she ever became a manager at this store I don't know why she works with the public. So now I am waiting on corporate to contact me because I did call him a second time after I hung up with a manager at Dairy Queen and let them know that the conversation started out bad and just got worse. So I will be getting in contact with them again today and I will make an update what everyone know if Dairy Queen is going to allow rude management to be so hateful and nasty to paying customers really paying customer or not to talk to another human being the way that this woman was speaking to me on the phone was totally unacceptable.

The woman that sold the cake to me that was working her butt off she was very overwhelmed and very short-handed that doesn't make the way that she treated me right but I can relate to that and I understand that.

With that being said we all have bad days, maybe next time she should call in if she doesn't think that she can treat people the way she would like to be treated. Fingers crossed, I will update this very ugly experience with Dairy Queen fingers crossed that they can redeem themselves...

I feel like they blew me off

Original review Feb 12, 2024
I ordered a custom cake for my daughter's bday party. Ordered 3 days in advance like the app said.

Got my order confirmation email with pickup time. All was great until I went to pick it up and was told that the app doesn't apply to them. It was their store on my confirmation btw.. I'm looking at them like What??

She says our cake truck comes on tues.. I'm sorry but that's not ok. We were counting on that cake being ready on time. I'm very unhappy with the fact that Noone bothered to reach out to me and say sorry but we can't fill your order.

Waiting until someone comes to get their order before you tell them you can't do it on time! Had to drop my child off at her party and hurry to store just hoping they had cakes made. I found a cake but missed the first 45 min of the party! Plus it wasn't what she'd planned on.

It was just a plain cake. I would still like to have my ice cream cake on tues but I think it should be free. This was bs that was unnecessary.

Fix your app or fix your stores because it isn't right. Bad for business I would think.

i forgot to add that the cookie doughblizzards were supposed tobe with vanilla icecream...they were chocolate.

Original review Feb 06, 2024
So my mother in law and i went to dairy queen for some treats. 4 blizzards to be exact.

2 cookie dough and 2 royal new york cheesecake blizzards. When we were given our blizzards, the worker quickly just handed the blizzards out the window and my mother in law asked arent you going to turn them upside down and honor your sign on the window saying they flip them and if anything falls they are free of.charge? And the worker just shook her head no then said you have a nice day and shut the window on us...all four of the blizzards were extremely runny like milkshakes and there was maybe six pieces of cheesecake and no strawberry sauce in the royal blizzards and one of the cookie dough blizzards were only 3 quarters of the way full.. So i imidiately got on the phone and tried to.speak with a manager in the resturant and was informed there was no manager available, no supervisor available and i was told she had no.clue at all if or when the next time one would be in or even a good time yo call back and speak with one.

She advised me she was the shift lead and i could talk to her and whrn i asked again for any kind of info.on when a good.time or even day was to.call back she said we are busy right now sorry and hung up the phone. I am incredibly disapointed and upset with the way we were treated. This was supposed to be a fun family outing and we were treated terribly. I don't even want to.return to the restaurant again if that's how customers are treated.

I was polite and courteous and still was responded to with irritation and her being short with me. She was of no help at all and made me feel helpless in resolving my issue at hand. I would not recommend anyone to this specific restaurant because of how disrespectful and rude this shift lead was to not only me but my sweet mother in law. I am not sure if i am.adressing the proper channel with this message if i am not my apologies and can you please point me in the right direction of who i need to speak with about this.

This customer service was absolute appalling and noone deserves to be treated that way. I have photos of the icecreams as well..

Confused, angry, disappointed

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

My family and I go to dairy queen at least every other day, twice a day and order food from the two for five menu because we think it absolutely delicious food made fresh. We found that the one located at 2105 oakshire ln in Pueblo Co makes all food the absolute best!.

Every time we order, we are asked to park because our food is made fresh Everytime! I love that! Well, two days ago, we went to get lunch and we were all so excited. Mouth watering and all.

We pull up in the drive through. We start to order our food and towards the end, the gentleman sounded irritated at the amount of food we ordered. All of the 2 for five minute I may add. Never been an issue before.

We drive 20 miles to go to this particular location. So he says he will have our total at the window. We pull up to the window... He states out total at over $37.00.

I responded... "What? Why?. Or order usually comes to no more than $25-$27.

So I pay, and get the receipt. I knew something was wrong immediately. I start to tell them that I didn't order a large FF. I ordered a regular off the 2 for 5.

The girl that was now at the window seemed annoyed, closed the window and came back 30 secs later with our food and $5. No explanation. We open the bag and the we had our 6 cheeseburgers, a half full medium ff and 1 reg carmel Sunday 1 reg hot fudge Sunday and 1 reg pineapple Sunday ( I ordered extra and barely had the reg amount). I looked at the receipt again.

I was charged almost $5 a piece for the 2 for 5 Sundays. So I go inside. Tell them I have never had to complain here before but that this just upsets me. The burgers were not fresh, barely warm.

They had a small dot of kat hup and mustard a piece. Buns seemed over done, extremely dry and again he charged me the complete wrong amounts on things. I aput the FF on the counter and asked if that was a large ff. They said no it's a regular because they gave me the $5 back.

I actually laughed because these fr were old and only half full. Maybe a total of 10 ff. Know what I get? Frustration and irritability towards me and $2.12 back.

I am just beside myself. Every bit of the food was thrown in the trash because it was disgusting.

The two for five menu offers cheeseburgers, hotdogs, fries, ice cream sundaes and sodas. You say your family goes there twice a day AT LEAST every other day.

So, you family is eating this junk anywhere from 6-10 times a week basically. Oh dear.

With your poor English, no wonder they messed up your order. They could not understand a word you said.

I question the lack of intelligence. They travel 20 miles to eat there, every other day, twice a day?

Obviously, she was not writing down her order but speaking it. If you cannot understand what she has written, maybe it is you that has the English problem. English101 courses are offered at your local community college(s).

Complaint of meals bought at Dairy Queen

Me and my husband like to take out food maybe once a week or so with the economy the way it is we just like to do it that way to save money so this particular night we selected Dairy Queen well the fish sandwich order and the fries were very dry very hard over cooked my husbands cheeseburger. He complained that just didnt taste fresh to him at all.

I spent $20 on both sandwiches approximately I would expect that I could get something that actually tasted good instead, we got to sandwich meals it tasted like theyve been sitting around for a week in the kitchen.

I would like my money either refunded or some sort of gift card. I dont feel this is right to charge for something like this when you cant even eat the food thank you for your time .

I have been ordering DQ gift cards over the last 15 years as treats for my grandchildren. I am finding more and more DQs that refuse gift cards. No other business I deal with refuses to use gift cards. I guess DQ doesnt need the business because the two I live in has 3 DQs and at least 2 wont take gift cards. I will be happy to find other ice cream vendors that want my business! Pretty ridiculous customer service!!!

Nobody tells anything where to position your vehicle for the drive thru speaker to work. They keep you wondering and waiting what to do. The prices are high to get the food. It would be better to just go in the restaurant, but that`s what a drive thru is for when you ai`nt got much time and you`re in a hurry.

I ordered 5 blizzards from the mobile app and they were not made right. None of them were turned upside down, they were melting when I received them and one was still being finished when I arrived at the store; when I got home 10 minutes away they were melted (order ready time said 7:31 I was there at 7:32) I was made to go inside, even though it was a personal order and not DoorDash. I didn't call the store but I do have pictures. Almost 33.00 I'd expected to be able to go through drive thru since they weren't busy!! And to have had the addon toppings that were missing. I was at my local DQ in Rosedale Maryland and the manager on shift was very rude and disrespectful!!! I was in the drive thru and I wanted two separate orders and he said that is not allowed!!!

So when I got to the window I said can I speak to your manager he said I am the the manager what do you want??? I said sir where do you have that posted that I can only do one order! He said I make the rules for my shift!!! I said I am pretty sure that that is not possible or legal!!!

He said his name was Keith so I took a picture of him because he tried to shove my order in my face!!! This is not the first time he has been rude to a customer and something needs to be done immediately!!!

I am a handicapped person and I need the drive thru!!! I was utmost disappointed and disrespected!!!

Hello, Im a business owner here in Martinsville, Indiana.

I ordered for food for 5 of my guys.

Now the problem is that the food was poorly made for the first time, btw, weve ordered numerous times from Dairy Queen. Its one of our favorite places to eat.

We also were missing items, so I sent one of my guys back to get the missing items. He was treated as if he was lying, which was very rude and unprofessional. Me being a business owner myself couldnt believe how things were handled.

The guy literally just tossed the items out the window at him. I couldnt bel it.

Btw, this is my manager of my shop, so hes not just going to make up some lies to get free food. I seen it for myself. Im also the one paying for the order. It was almost $80.00.

I called there, which Ive never done anywhere before, but this was out of line. I was immediately hung up on. The location of this store was 396 E Ruth Rusie Way Martinsville, IN. 46151.

My order number was #227458****594**** exact amount of order was $77.79. Order date 11-22-2023, time 12:44pm

I honestly hate complaining about an order. I understand business can be stressful sometimes, but this was unacceptable. We eat there at least once a week.

The food was always amazing the times before, but this time it was terrible, not just that. It was a terrible experience all together. We all love Dairy Queen, but I question whether to even go back after this experience. Like I said, Im not one to complain.

I usually just deal with it, but this was very unprofessional.

I wanted to send a message first before I made any kind of review, bc I know as a business owner reviews can be damaging to a business. Im sorry I had to write this message, but I felt something needed to be said.

Ive spent at least over $400 there since theyve just recently opened. This was completely uncalled for.

Thank you.

-Jeff

Probably was not a good idea to post the name of the business you own on a public internet forum that anyone can read.

The only refund they should give you is for the missing order, unless you return the rest of the food.

Called and placed an order and was told it would be ready in 15 minutes. I showed up 15 minutes later and waited there at the order pick up for half an hour, nobody asked me what I needed or was there for, they were very busy. I tried to call the restaurant 3x to get an answer or at least cancel the order I placed and was hung up on each time. Not a good look, went to McDonalds instead.

Anti LGBTQ+ event taking place tomorrow at Churn Creek Restaurant

Dear Dairy Queen,

There is a location in Redding, California, Churn Creek is the actual name of the franchise, that will be hosting a signature collection event on January 3rd from 5-8pm. The goal of this event is to gain support for a potential ballot initiative that will include outing *** school children against their wills and denying gender affirming care to minors even with parental consent.

The staff of the franchise location was never notified in advance of this event and when they found out from a local ally, they cancelled it. But the franchise owner has since informed the staff that the event will go on regardless of any protest.

It is not my place to identify any individuals, but there are members of the LGBTQIA+ community employed at this location and they are being forced to serve organizers from several anti-Queer political groups during this event.

Forcing employees who are members of a historically abused community to cater to people expressing open bigotry is abhorrent and abusive. There is an all out war against *** people right now and someones workplace should be one of the safe spaces where they will be legally protected from vitriol and dehumanization.

According to Dairy Queens Values:

We believe in and are committed to creating an environment where everyone feels welcome and valued.

I promise you, if this event is hosted at the Redding location on Churn Creek Rd, Dairy Queen will be betraying its own values by exposing employees and any unsuspecting customers to hateful rhetoric aimed at the removal of the rights, freedoms and protections for LGBTQIA+ children.

Can you even imagine if a Trans child enters this location to get a delicious meal with their family and they hear Trans children dont exist or gender affirming care is child abuse or worse?

Please, can you stop this location from being pulled into this Draconian nightmare and protect its employees and customers from supporting this against their consent?

Lastly, I am a Berkshire Hathaway shareholder and I own more than $30,000 in in Berkshire stock and my next step is to contact Berkshire corporate on this matter.

Thank you.

He took it back out the till and threw it at me in my car. Told me to get the *** out of there that he wasnt serving me. So I cussed him out while leaving.
